Subject: Trinity

Message: I am confused. In this article, are you saying that God is more than Father, Son and Holy Spirit, or are you saying His is not a trinity? Please explain, because it sounds like you are saying that the trinity is a doctrine that is not scriptual. thank you, CR

Dear Carol Russell,

Thank you for your correspondence.

It is clear that we see the manifestation of God in the scripture through the three; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Also in the scripture is the directive to not define Him [ "I am that I am", or actually, since the statement is really future tense - "I will be that which I will be." Exodus 3:14 ]. The doctrine of the "Mystical Holy Trinity" was developed by the early Catholic [Universal] Church in an effort to define for themselves a different god from the God of Israel. He has shown Himself in the three, but He may choose to reveal more as we go along.

These articles are posted to present biblical truth but also to encourage people to seek the scriptures for themselves. Otherwise someone may say 'Those people at the Tzemach Institute say' ... rather than 'The scripture clearly tells us' ... This is why we have developed the two year bible course that takes a student through the bible in chronology, so that they can see the full revelation of God in the progression. Please seek confirmation in the scriptures on these issues.

Blessings from the Tzemach Institute for Biblical Studies,
