Aliyah is a Continual Event:
The Jewish agency Nefesh B'nefesh brought another 240 North Americans home to Israel. Nefesh B'Nefesh - Jewish Souls United - was formed in late 2001 to regenerate the North American Aliyah and to expand it for generations to come by removing the financial, professional, social and logistical obstacles that are preventing many new immigrants from fulfilling their dream. There have been over 7,000 American and Canadian newcomers who have returned home to Israel, on sixteen different flights since 2002. Ninety-nine percent have remained in Israel, at least one spouse in ninety-four percent of the families are employed, 300 babies have been born to them, and 100 weddings have been celebrated among them. The organization provides pre- and post-immigrations services such as loans that become grants, employment information and opportunities, and help in education and other areas. "Our comprehensive Aliyah services, and the cooperative support of Israel's governmental and organizational resources [such as the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Interior Ministry], have played a pivotal role in our ongoing success," says Nefesh co-founder and chairman Tony Gelbart.

Knesset Bill Bans Knesset Members From Supporting Terror:
The current laws ban people from running for Knesset positions if they support terror. Once individuals are in the Knesset, however, there are no current laws restricting their support for terrorism. Arab MK's [Minister of Knesset] recently refused to condemn the kidnapping of Corporal Shalit. MK Orlev said on Sunday that he had asked Arab MK Azmi Bishara [National Democratic Assembly] "how he, as a citizen of this state, can not want to protect its army" - and then he [Bishara] said, "It's not my army."

Terrorist Attack Thwarted:
A specific warning was received this week revealing a planned attack in the Samarian city of Ariel [central Israel]. Checkpoints and roadblocks were put up and police were deployed in mass since the warning stated the perpetrators were already in route. Arab taxis were isolated, and forces moved in on many specific vehicles. The terrorist were finally found and taken into the custody of the General Security Service.

Hamas Charities Closed Down:
Israeli Defense Force [IDF] and Civil Administration officials closed down nine public Hamas charity institutions this week because they were fronting terrorist operations. A high-ranking IDF officer leading the mission stated, "instead of the money going to real charitable purposes and to needy people, it is used for terrorist purposes, [supporting] suicide bombers and their families." Documents and computers were confiscated and are being reviewed to find connections between the organizations and Hamas terror activities. Matthew A. Levitt, a former FBI counter terrorism intelligence analyst and a senior fellow in terrorism studies at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, has written widely on U.S. findings linking Hamas' charitable activities with its terrorist intentions.
