Wilkerson Brings a Message of Hope to Israel:
New York City Pastor David Wilkerson held a three-day conference in Jerusalem this week for Christian believers in Israel. About 3,000 people attended the opening night of the conference from several nations and from all over Israel including Messianic Jews, Arab believers and other Christians who live, volunteer, or were visiting in the Land to hear the well know pastor of New York City’s Times Square Church. The theme of the conference was "Let us go up to Jerusalem." Wilkerson exhorted believers that the "Body of Christ" is made up of "Messianic" Jews and Gentile Christians who must work together. Wilkerson felt led to open these meetings to a larger audience, not just leaders in the land, because of Israel's significance in the end times.

Americans Recognized as Righteous Gentiles:
This week the Yad Vashem in Jerusalem recognized Waitstill and Martha Sharp [of Boston, Massachusetts] as "Righteous Gentiles Among the Nations." They are only the second and third Americans to ever receive this prestigious honor. They were recognized for their works during World War II for helping Jews flee from Czechoslovakia, and then from France. One recognized individual they helped escape from the Nazis was German-Jewish author Lion Feuchtwanger. The only other American to have been so honored was Varian Fry, an emissary for the US Emergency Rescue Committee.

Israel "Walls In" the Tomb of Rachel:
Due to Israel’s peace [piece] partners, it has become common practice for Israeli Defense Forces to put up walls around towns, roads, and now tombs. Rachel's tomb is just a few miles away from Jerusalem and recently access to it has dramatically changed. Visitors now complain that walls surround all sides of the site, and that they can no longer drive themselves to it but must be transported by bulletproof bus.

Truth Spoken from the Other Side:
A former custodian of the Temple Mount group known as the Waqf identified that there is proof of the existence of the Jewish temples before the Al Aqsa Mosque. He stated that his collogues denial of this fact is rooted in politics and not facts. Even though there is a great deal of archaeological evidence to substantiate his statement, his confession goes against the mainstream thinking of the Islamic world. "I am mentioning historical facts," said the former leader. "I know that the traditional denial about the temple existing at the same place as Al Aqsa is more a political denial. Unfortunately our religious and political leaders chose the option of denial to fight the Jewish position and demands regarding Al Aqsa and taking back the Temple Mount compound. In my opinion we should admit the truth and abandon our traditional position." The leader said his conclusion that the Jewish temples existed does not forfeit what he calls "Islamic rights" to the Temple Mount and Al Aqsa Mosque.

Olmert Not That Popular:
A recent poll by the Ha'aretz newspaper done on June the 7th was supervised by Professor Camille shows that only 37 percent support Ehud Olmert's plan to carry out further unilateral withdrawals in Judea and Samaria. The majority of Israelis [56 percent] oppose the plan. It also show that only 35 percent actually support Prime Minister Olmert's performance so far, even though he has served only one month in the office of Israeli Prime Minister.
