Prize-Winning Computer Program Aborts Suicide Attacks:
Shin Bet director Yuval Diskin explained when accepting the prize (Monday evening) that speed was crucial in translating digital data into usable intelligence. Shin Bet is Israel's domestic security agency. The agency was in a continual race against time to prevent their screens turning red with the names of new victims of suicide terror attacks. Without this customized program, Israel would not have been able to pre-empt the major suicide offensive plotted by "Palestinian" terrorist organizations in the past year. A few times, the bomber was apprehended as he was on his way his target. In spite of current "lulls", Diskin warned that the Hamas is working diligently to extend their terror efforts from the Gaza Strip to the Judea and Samaria. Shin Bet's unique intelligence tool, developed by the agency's technology department, converts raw intelligence at top speed into operational data for field operatives. Its efficiency exceeds any other system in use today in the global war on terror.

Tourism Up by Twenty-Seven Percent:
Israeli Ministry of Tourism and Central Bureau of Statistics recently announced that 1,424,900 tourists entered the country between January and September 2005, representing a twenty-seven percent increase over the same period in the last year. "The momentum is continuing," says Tourism Minister Avraham Hirchson. "Our goal of two million visitors this year is within reach."

The Seventh-Month Festivals:
On Tuesday Jews around the world celebrated Rosh Hashannah. They will also celebrate Yom Kippur on Thursday, 14 October. Rosh Hashannah literally means "head of the year" and since the Babylonian captivity it has been celebrated as such, but biblically, and prior to the Babylonian captivity it was called the Day of Trumpets. Biblically speaking, the New Year is fourteen days prior to Passover.
