According to the Genesis account, man was created at the apex of God's creation (Psalm 8), to reproduce and fill the earth and to rule over the creation (Genesis 1:28). This role was complicated in the fall as man rejected complete allegiance and obedience to God. As a result, man would have to work to provide for himself (Genesis 3:17-19) and his wife would bring forth children in pain (Genesis 3:15-16). This defines the authorized pattern for human manifestation, which includes the family unit for reproduction and working in a humbled state to provide for the family. This humbled position resulted directly from God's judgment on man.

Today man, filled with arrogance, rejects the judgment of God and the humbled state of his existence. His attitude toward family and reproduction has changed from the authorized pattern. Man enters into fornication with numerous partners while demanding that he suffer no consequences for his folly. He bypasses the reproductive process for "recreational sex". If a pregnancy occurs he simply relies on the abortionist to take care of his problem. He embraces every kind of perversion and declares it normal under the heading of an alternative lifestyle.
In work, man demands a career that is self-exalting. His work must be fulfilling, meaning that it must appeal to his pride and satisfy his lust for power and greed. He aspires to retire early in order to enjoy life before he gets too old. He has forgotten the simple pattern set by God as a judgment of man resulting from his rebellion in the garden.
If God judged angelic beings for rejecting their original domain, will He not judge man for the same thing? We have seen that rebellious angelic being are only allowed unauthorized manifestation through man in this age, and, ultimately, will be allowed no manifestation at all. The man that rejects the Biblical pattern defined by God will also isolated in the "Lake of Fire" and allowed no manifestation in God's new creation. What greater torment could there be than to be eternally conscious of a vast, sophisticated creation in which all things live in love, harmony, blessing and meaningful purpose in which you have absolutely no manifestation or interaction. This is the picture portrayed in the Bible as the "Lake of Fire".
Micah the Hebrew prophet gave us a very simple formula, which if followed results in life, "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?" (Micah 6:8)
