Analysis of the 2004 Election

In the aftermath of the recent elections, I think it is appropriate to make some points of analysis. We have all seen the dramatic portrayal of the country divided into the red and blue states. The coastal, major urban populations centers were blue while the great span of mid-America was red. This portrayal demonstrates that there are two dominant mindsets in this country resulting in different interpretations of world events and therefore different visions for the country.

On both coasts, the leadership panders to minorities who fear being left out of the political process.

I believe that the mindset reflected in the blue states is more “post-Christian”. Because Europe is also “post Christian”, attitudes in the blue states often find agreement with Europeans. Leadership in the East is provided by liberal intellectual and families with inherited wealth. On the West Coast, leadership appears to be provided by Hollywood celebrities. On both coasts, the leadership panders to minorities who fear being left out of the political process.

The mindset reflected in the red states represents an America of an earlier period. Christian values are important to a majority of the people in these areas. These areas tend to be much more conservative than the blue states.

There is a growing mistrust between these two opposing mindsets. People from the blue areas tend to see the people in the red states as non-analytical, simple and bigoted. People in the red states see the people in the blue states as apostate, immoral and often cowardly. Obviously, there is much red in the blue states and blue in the red states. The clear division was only obvious because of the electoral system (the Electoral College) devised by the Founding Fathers of the Nation.

Is America moving toward the blue or the red? If we were to judge by the signs of moral degeneration evident in the society, it would seem that we would be moving toward the blue. On the other hand, the conservative movement in America appears to be healthy and robust, indicating a move toward the red. So the question is very difficult to answer with much certainty.

We were very concerned that if leadership reflecting the blue states were elected, than the country would be moved more into a liberal, post-Christian direction. That did not happen because millions of conservative Christians made their voices heard in the polls.

Through the pursuit of globalism, the nation (USA) is moving closer to a “new world order” which we believe is predicted by John in the book of Revelation and referred to as the “beast” or “beast government”

America today is the world’s lone superpower. The government of the United States is committed to pursue its commercial and military interest no matter who is elected to the office of President. Through the pursuit of globalism, the nation is moving closer to a “new world order” which we believe is predicted by John in the book of Revelation and referred to as the “beast” or “beast government”. John, in the same passage, described a second beast which is religious in nature.

We believe that the election tells us something about this second beast. This beast will only be free to emerge when the country, in general, adapts a “post and anti-Christian” mindset. Since the conservative Christian vote appeared to have been unified and assertive, it seems that the second beast of the book of Revelation will be hindered at least for the immediate future.

So we conclude that we have some time remaining to preach the message of the Kingdom of God here. Eventually, we believe that preaching this message will no longer be tolerated. Islamic terrorism may accelerate the time when this will occur. We anticipate that one day, the nations may outlaw any religions expression which confesses “special election” and places specific claim to any given geographical territory such as the settlements in Judea and Samaria. Until that time, we will continue in the pursuit of the Kingdom in this Nation.
